Freak Out Moments

{March 30, 2012}   Idiot Sightings

My daughter and I went through the McDonalds take-away window and I gave the girl a £5 note. Our total was £4.20, so I also handed her a Twenty pence piece.
She said, ‘you gave me too much money.’
I said, ‘Yes I know, but this way you can just give me £1 back.’
She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back the 20 pence and said ‘We’re sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.’

The girl then proceeded to give me back 80 pence in change..

Do not confuse the girls at MacD’s.

We had to have the garage door repaired. The GARADOR repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a ‘large’ enough motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one GARADOR made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, ‘Lady, you need a ¼ horsepower.’ I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, ‘NOOO, it’s not. Four is larger than two.’

We haven’t used Garador repair since. Happened in Bromley , Kent UK

I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbour call the Highways Department to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: ‘Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don’t think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.’

Story from Crayford , Kent , UK

My daughter went to a local Kentucky Fried and ordered a Mexican taco. She asked the person behind the counter for’minimum lettuce.’ He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.

From Gillingham Kent , UK .

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an Irish airport employee asked, ‘Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?’
To which I replied, ‘If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?’
He smiled knowingly and nodded, ‘That’s why we ask.’

Happened Luton Airport …… UK

The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it’s safe to cross the street. I was crossing with an intellectually challenged co-worker of mine.. She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded, ‘What on earth are blind people doing driving?!’

She is a Local County Council employee in Dartford Kent, UK

When my husband and I arrived at Our Local Ford dealer to pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it. We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked. ‘Hey,’ I announced to the Mechanic “It’s open!’
His reply, ‘I know. I already did that side.’

This was at the Ford dealership in St Albans, Hertfordshire UK.

{March 23, 2012}   Friday

And that means chillaxing, role play and a little lay in tomorrow. I love a good lay in, most important stuff that.

So what’s the deal? I realised I hate my wardrobe for the most part. I know what I want but I can’t get it in my size or I can’t afford to spend the money to get it made in those sizes. I’m sorry I don’t fit the generic female mannekin shape Mr Manufacturer!

I have however got my cosplay and other than the sword it’s all there ready to be kitted up and tried out properly. This is scary, it means pictures of me may hit the internet and that’s the bit I am worried about.

As a big girl I tend to try and hide a lot, I mean the irony hasn’t passed by me either there… I am three times the width of any street lamp so hiding isn’t easy! ^^ I know the fashions I’d love to wear but I am always searching for them and never finding them.

I don’t like the modern street fashion, I want to enjoy my own happy little world but I guess that means it’s coming at a price. So I shall toddle off and google search some more and wish you a very nice weekend.

{March 21, 2012}   Game and RIP to the Highstreet

GAME and RIP highstreet Today I hear that GAME is still suffering with it’s trading issues. I love that place. I hope that something comes up for the company and they continue because I have always shopped there since the store came to Nottingham.

Complaining that they re-sell for profit to themselves, well I don’t see anything about that being an issue on e-bay, Amazon, Gamestop etc… hells even Supermarkets are in the pre-owned market. I disagree really heartily with the idea of having to pay extortionate amounts for one license on my computer that I have to repay for if anything goes wrong…

Internet based companies took the market into easy shopping but I like going into the store. Helpful, friendly people came to assist me and unlike most mass crap retail outlets I felt like I could engage with staff. The manager was on the shop floor and he would talk and listen to people. It’s what we used to get and what we SHOULD get! I hate going into the city centre lately, mostly it’s a place for a small gathering of tents for “occupy Nottingham” which by the way just is a farce.

I hate the masses of cafe’s and other boring ass places with more calories and sugar and no personality. The best shops I can remeber are all gone replaced by Primark and Gap, or other such cheap ass “only if you are stick thin” places.

So Game, Forbidden Planet, Page 45 and the old geeky shops were my reason to go in. Take those away and my choice has to be internet so I am forced into the market of the internet even if I didn’t want it, purely because there is nothing else.

I feel sorry for the high street business of today, unless it’s something like Starbucks or Poundland it’s not getting very far unless it goes netbased. RIP highstreet, I used to enjoy walking around with my friends but I fear it’s an age of the past.

Signing out Rea

{March 20, 2012}   First Post

I’m going to blog my random thoughts here. Because this is the first year in so long that  feel ready to get out and express things I am happy to do.

It’s been a few very weird years for me, I lost my mom thanks to cancer and I thought I was coping really well but I wasn’t. I already suffered depression but that was a massive black hole that sucked me in and I guess you could say I let it win, but I am now fighting back.

I’m quite a cynical person, I don’t mean to be and I try to look forwards but I find that I am not one to tolerate stupidity easily (maybe that’s why I don’t tolerate myself haha!)

This year though I have two big things I am looking forward to and here they are:

I’m going to be going to Cosplay MCM in London and I am going as Rangiku Matsumoto from Bleach. She’s so awesome and I might be too big to pull off her costume well but I know it’s the one I wanted so I’ve got it all sat there waiting. If I get to be super brave I’ll be posting about that as the lead up comes.

The other is a three week holiday in the USA and I am really looking forward to this. I will be seeing people I have never met before but have practically become sisters with, we get on so well and I love and adore them so much.

So that’s where I am so far.
